History of Cut Knife, Saskatchewan

Executive Summary

My interactive project is going to consist of several aspects of the history of my hometown, Cut Knife, Saskatchewan. I will cover many characteristics of it such as the Clayton McClain Memorial Museum, Cut Knife Hill, Cut Knife High School, and general information on the town itself, from early day to present day.

The History of Cut Knife, an interactive project created in Adobe Flash CS3 took just as much planning and it did creating! Necessary documents before production were an idea proposal and functional specifications (executive summary, global conventions, file naming conventions, access procedures, node map and descriptions, objectives), and a list of media elements as well as a description of the text that will appear on each page. After I successfully created my interface, it stayed much the same for every single page (excluding the introduction and subheading pages). I took all of my images into Adobe Photoshop and put them in a clipping mask that I used for each photo (depending if the straight edge was on the left or right) and then did an appropriate save as.

Redesign

This project was due mid-April of 2008. Within the past month I have recently did a redesign of the colour scheme, font styles, and the thumbnail images. I am very happy with the new look and feel ... Please note that I am currently not satisfied with the music buttons but hopefully I will find a solution soon! Feel free to let me know what you think; I would love to hear any suggestions and comments!

On behalf of myself, Stephanie Gilchrist, the designer of the History of Cut Knife, Saskatchewan interactive project, I would like to thank a number of people for making this project possible.
